Stephanie represented the United States at the Olympics for the third time in her career in the 2012 London games, finishing 8th. In 2008 she won the Gold Medal in the women’s discus event. Stephanie has won 4 USA Championships including the 2012 Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR.
Stephanie set the American Record in the discus in Maui, HA in May 0f 2012 with a throw of 222’3″. The has three of the top ten marks of all time in the USA.
Big dreams, tiny inspiration
A notably tall discus thrower at 6-foot-4, Stephanie has wanted to be an Olympian ever since the age of four, when she watched Mary Lou Retton compete in the 1984 Olympics, and her father bought her a Mary Lou Retton leotard.
Stephanie and her husband Jerry are avid hunters and conservationists. Stephanie volunteers for the California Outdoor Heritage Alliance speaking to congressional members on wildlife conservation and our outdoor heritage. She also is a member of the Wilderness Unlimited Foundation raising funds for habitat restoration and educational and recreational activities for kids.
